The vulnerability could allow remote code execution if a user opens a file type such as .eml and .rss (Windows Live Mail) or .wpost (Microsoft Live Writer) located in the same network folder as a specially crafted library file.

A remote code execution vulnerability exists in the way that Microsoft Windows opens specific files on platforms that do not support the BranchCache functionality. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could take complete control of an affected system.
