Technical Information
Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service is a windows service which enables one internet-connected computer to act as a gateway device and shares its internet connection to other computers on a local area network. Domain Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is used to assign an IP of a computer automatically. ICS sends DHCP messages to assign IP to the connected computers.
A remote code execution vulnerability where an attacker in the same network would need to send a specially crafted DHCP message to a server that runs the Internet Connection Sharing service.
