Technical Information
A remote unauthenticated attacker tries to perform domain controller lookup for the attacker’s domain either directly on LDAP server or indirectly to the LDAP client application. In former, the attacker directly sends specially crafted RPC calls to the domain controller to trigger a lookup of the attacker’s domain and gain remote code execution. In latter, the attacker must convince or trick the victim into performing a domain controller lookup for the attacker’s domain or into connecting to a malicious LDAP server and gain remote code execution.
