MS16-069 | Cumulative Security Update for JScript and VBScript (3163640) | Windows Vista | Critical | 15-06-2016 |
Technical Information
Brief overview of the risk:
This security update resolves vulnerabilities in the JScript and VBScript scripting engines in Microsoft Windows. The vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user visits a specially crafted website.
Detailed Information on the risk:
Multiple remote code execution vulnerabilities exist in the way that the JScript 9, JScript, and VBScript engines render when handling objects in memory in Internet Explorer. The vulnerabilities could corrupt memory in such a way that an attacker could execute arbitrary code in the context of the current user. An attacker who successfully exploited the vulnerabilities could gain the same user rights as the current user.
