Over the past few years, malware and hacking have evolved from kids play to serious business on the web. Today these are focused on stealing the Identities of innocuous victims and thereby gain access to their financial resources. There are statistical reports available from various sources giving us a picture of how big and serious this devious business is.  While US citizens lost about half billion dollars to online scams last year, half of UK’s netizens are reluctant to shop online.

While Internet Security solutions available today predominantly focus on detecting and eliminating malicious programs, the actual weak spot – Internet Browser – is not being addressed even though a whopping majority of transactions are conducted using that. All web browsers in use today have serious exposures to attacks. Malware (like Virus, Worms, Trojans, Keyloggers, Spyware and Hackers) exploit the weaknesses in the architectures of browsers to achieve their malafide purposes.

As existing security solutions are not engineered specifically to address browser related security concerns, there is a pressing need to fill up the gap. We had to begin where existing security solutions (anti-virus, anti-spyware, Internet Security) end to evolve a technology for creating ‘Secure Online Transaction Environment’. The objective is to create and lock down online transaction environment and prevent malware and hackers from gaining access – even if a computer is infected. WE DID JUST THAT!

Being a technologist, I am pleased to announce the launch of our new product K7 SecureWeb which will take security to the next level. By addressing Online Transaction Security specifically, this product allows customers to conduct Banking, Trading, shopping and Credit Card Transactions with confidence. K7 SecureWeb will be available to customers from 5th July 2010.
